Soft bubbles float over flavors of sweet citrus, peach and melon. A bouquet of wildflowers refreshes the senses. Electra is a Moscato d’Asti style picnic wine for drinking outside in warm weather, chilled or on the rocks. Compared to other Moscatos, Electra is more aromatic, crisp and refreshing. Whereas most moscatos are made from Muscat of Alexandria, Electra is over 75% Orange Muscat and the balance is Muscat Canelli. These varieties are more difficult to grow and have smaller yields, but their aromas and flavors are more refined. Pair it with fresh fruit, salads, spicy Asian and Italian foods, burgers with sweet sauce, light desserts, blue skies and fresh air. Only 4.5% alcohol.
Dr. Wagner Riesling Kabinett
Riesling is a light-skinned, aromatic grape of German origin which is – if the majority of top wine critics are to be believed – the world’s finest white-wine grape variety. For many, the claim above may seem at odds with the sea of chaptalized, low-quality wine exported from Germany in the late 20th Century. In truth, very little of that infamous wine was Riesling at all (Riesling became a scapegoat for higher-yielding grapes such as Muller-Thurgau and Silvaner), but the reputation has nonetheless stuck. No less unshakeable a stereotype is of Riesling as just a sweet grape, used only to make sticky wines. Although founded on a basic truth (botrytized Rieslings are among the finest sweet wines in the world), this stereotype blindly ignores the fact that the majority of Riesling wines across the world are either dry or off-dry.
The Grayson Zinfandel shows a dark color with rich mixed raspberries, strawberries and brambles surrounded by hints of spice including black pepper and bacon. Intense richness carries through on the palate of this full bodied wine with explosive blackberry and vanilla flavors. The wine’s finish is long and elegant.
