September is NC Wine Month, and we are celebrating with Shelton Vineyards wines for the Animal Shelter fund raiser.
Yadkin Valley Riesling
This semi-sweet Riesling has aromas and flavors of green apple and pear with a hint of luscious guava and ripe pineapple. Balanced with crisp acidity throughout. Serve slightly chilled. Pairs with shrimp, poultry, spicy dishes and Asian cuisine.
Bin 17, Unoaked Chardonnay
This chardonnay has subtle minerality with tropical fruit and lemon/grapefruit aromas. The understated acidity and controlled alcohol levels add palate weight that leads to a pleasing “just right” finish. This steel-fermented Chardonnay offers a refreshing fruit filled taste that can be enjoyed all year round.
This Cabernet Franc wine has a slight bell pepper and strong blueberry aroma, a full and slightly smoky, yeast balanced oak finish. It’s perfect with frilled rib-eye steak, burgers pork tenderloin or barbeque chicken salad.
Salem fork Sweet Blush
This blush is 100% Merlot and fermented cool with just the right amount of structure and color extracted from the skins. Abundant grapefruit aroma surround the sweet strawberry and raspberry flavors…like a slightly tart candy. This refreshing picnic and summer “sipping” wine will temper fried foods, salty snacks and will pair wonderfully with simple cheese and crackers.
